Doping in the ambush of youth

 

"Young people do not have enough knowledge about the adverse effects from doping drugs" said the Head of Heath and Food Safety Working Group at Office of Vice-chancellor for Social Affairs at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences.

The side effects of performance-enhancing drugs has increased among young people and athletes, and can be dangerous and negative for athletes causing health issues including kidney disease, strokes, heart attacks as well as blood pressure.

According to the Public Affairs Department of vice-chancellor for Social Affairs, in line with the seventh resolution of the Second meeting of the Working Group on the Smuggling of Health-Based Goods, on Information and Promoting Health Literacy and Reducing Social Damage, Dr. Hossein Biglari, in the Radio (healthy Way Program) and simultaneously in the News Interview with MERSAD News Said that adverse health consequences of performance-enhancing drugs is one of the priorities by the Health Council at University.

Dr. Biglari stated that based on the sports rules and regulations, if it is proven an athlete used a doping drug during a sports event by performing appropriate test sample, that person will be banned from the sporting events. He also noted that in the last few years there has been an increase in the cases of doping, but not accurate and readily number available because there are always some who are secretly and arbitrarily taking drugs, while counterfeit sport supplements are another problem, which doubles the side effects of their consumption.
