Doctor Alireza Rai, cardiologist and the head of the team, said: “In this procedure performed to repair a tear in the aorta, aortorrhaphy was attained not in an open but in a closed approach using a stent inserted through angiography. The surgery has been highly successful, and the patient can be discharged tomorrow. Aortorrhaphy is a procedure that can also be attempted in an open approach. It is, however, accompanied by high morbidity in this way. When the surgery is carried out in a closed procedure, there is a significant reduction in the morbidity rate as well as a noticeable decline in the hospitalization course.
